General Information:
In order to support the Mission of the Baptist Health System to provide the highest possible quality of healthcare to the patients it serves and continuing education is a recognized element in that effort, the System has dedicated resources to the establishment of a Continuing Medical Education program. This program is accredited by the Texas Medical Association to provide category 1 credits toward the AMA Physician's Recognition Award. The program is coordinated and administered by the Education Committee that consists of physicians and appropriate staff of Baptist Health System. The management of the day to day operations of the program are delegated to the CME Departmental staff.

Hospital Based CME Activities:

CME educational activities are held at all BHS hospitals. These activities typically award 1 CME hour and occur during lunchtime. Usually, there is at least one program at each facility every month. Topics for the activities vary, flyers are posted in the hospitals a few days before the program with detailed information.

Regional Conferences:

The CME Department also coordinates several regional conferences. These conferences are held on Saturday at various times during the year at a local hotel. Physicians, nurses and allied health care professionals from all over the State attend these activities. Attendance averages 200 + for each conference. The annual conferences and the time of year they are typically held is as follows:
